Construction

The method for construction will be a solid block of 6061-T6 Aluminum. A sizable portion of the block will be milled down so there will be a place for the c-clamp. The c clamp that will placed in the spot of the milled out area will have locater pins to put the c clamp in the correct spot every time so the user doesn’t need to adjust the placement before it is locked in place.

On the fixture where the c-clamp will be placed will be a rubber mat to give the c clamp grip so it won’t slide while being locked down in place. This could also be applied where the fixture will be mounted in the vise so as to not create wear marks on the side of the fixtures.

There may be pre-manufactured clamps that will be bolted into place on the fixture that will either be bought online or at a hardware store. The block of steel will be supplies by the school or one can be bought from a local supplier.

The c-clamp that will be used will be placed on the location that was milled out. There will be clamps that then will put pressure on the c-clamp and be able to be locked down securely.

There are already benchmark mounts like the one I am making that perform very well. So the solution could be to purchase one or two of them to be put on the fixture. This will save time and money in the long run and will also perform better.
